Hey Family,

I hope this finds you well! I wanted to share some updates from the first two weeks! Right now, I’m at training camp, and it’s been an incredible experience so far. (Plenty of new crazy experiences already!)

Since being here in Georgia, after I got over the thought of “I’m not going home”, I’ve felt a sense of belonging. More specifically, a belonging to my squad. They have quickly become like family to me. ❤️ We’ve been spending our days learning, growing, and supporting each other in such beautiful ways. The bond we’re forming is truly amazing, and I already know these friendships will last a lifetime. (Yay God!) 😊

One of the highlights for me has been the way the camp brings us together to praise the Lord (It reminds me of my cute church). Most days, we gather to worship, and I can feel His presence among us. It’s powerful and uplifting, filling my heart with joy and peace.

We’ve been participating in various physical activities, in-case scenarios, and training sessions designed to prepare us for the mission work ahead. It’s challenging at times (sleeping in tents, bucket showering, and handwashing our clothes, etc.), but knowing that we’re all doing it together and that God’s plan overseas could involve anything keeps us mostly sane.

There are various leadership positions within each squad, and I guess God had a plan for me to be one of the three logistics and treasurers. This role comes with significant responsibilities, and through a ton of questioning and praying, I accepted it. As part of the logistics and treasurer team, we are tasked with leading our squad through airports and ensuring we reach our hosts in each different country safely. We also play a crucial role in planning the essential living arrangements for our debrief weeks. One of the things that I’m going to need prayer for is handling the finances. Lol, I’ve never been amazing with money (God is so funny), and the idea of making financial decisions for the squad is pretty intimidating. But I do see this as a chance to grow and learn. With God’s guidance, prayers, and the support of my squad, I know I’ll make it!

I miss you all! Keep us in your prayers as we continue to grow in faith and prepare to serve others. I can’t wait to share more stories and experiences with you as this is just the start!

Thank you for reading! ❤️

  1. Jaylynn, I love that you are going be in the Logistics role. I know you will do well. If you need help, just ask. I pray wisdom from the Holy Spirit will be bestowed upon you and this role will help you grow and become more confident with math (I always tell people that I don’t do math after 8 pm because I’m too tired). Thanks for an excellent blog.

  2. We are so proud of you J! Thank you for keeping us up to date. We can not wait to hear more God stories. Praying for you daily 🙂
