Hey Family!
I can’t believe I’m finally sitting down to update you all on the last month of this 10/40 trip. Morocco was truly something special, in the best way. It’s hard to put into words just how full and meaningful this season has been. Time has flown by so quickly, and now it feels bittersweet knowing it’s almost over. But honestly, what an incredible way to end it.
The Lord has been moving in such personal and beautiful ways, and I can’t wait to share more 🤍
→ Istanbul → Casablanca
Our squad flew out of Istanbul and landed in Casablanca on April 7th. The next morning, our mentors, Jenna and Kevin, gathered us to walk through the plan for Morocco. Except… there really wasn’t one, lol. They told us we’d keep the same teams and roles, but beyond that, we were free to go wherever we felt the Lord leading.
Honestly, it was kind of crazy, really exciting, and a little wild. Since then, the Trailblazers truly blazed our way all across Morocco.
Right away in Casablanca, we realized we needed a place to stay but couldn’t find anything within our budget. After wandering for a couple of hours, a man suddenly showed up and started helping us, even though he didn’t speak any English. We just trusted him and followed him from hotel to hotel until he made a call and led us to the perfect little spot for two nights, right within our budget.
The wild part is that Rachel and I had just started praying, asking God to lead us exactly where He wanted us to stay, and almost immediately He did.
We spent some time as a team praying, asking the Lord what He had for us in Morocco, writing down places, verses, and anything He highlighted. We knew we’d be moving around a lot, so after two nights (and a little Sabbath), we packed light and headed out.
→ Marrakech
We felt led to Marrakech, so we hopped on a bus and wandered again to find a place to stay. We explored the Medina, the souks, and met people from all over the world. It was amazing.
But soon after, Rachel and I felt pulled toward Merzouga, the Sahara Desert.
→ On the way → Ouarzazate
On the way, we stopped in Ouarzazate and spent a morning worshiping and recentering. I really feel like the Lord honored that.
Right after, on the bus, we met a man named Khaled who spent most of the ride talking with Corin, bought us lunch, and invited us to stay with him anytime. Just like that.
→ Merzouga
When we got to Merzouga, we still had nowhere to stay. But about an hour before arriving, I felt the Spirit nudge me to start praying for a man sitting across from us on the bus. Pretty quickly, I knew I was supposed to share the gospel with him.
I told Rachel, “If he gets off at the same stop as us, we have to talk to him.”
Right before we got off, he turned to us and asked if we had a place to stay. We said no, and he said, “You can come stay at my house… you like adventure, right?” 😂
We were like, okay, but let’s get dinner first. So we shared a meal with him, praying and using discernment, and the whole team felt peace about it. Looking back, it really felt like God had been setting that up long before we ever realized it.
We followed our new friend, Mohmed, to his family’s home, and it was so peaceful. His family welcomed us in warmly. We shared meals together and slept in the living room.
The next morning, we shared parts of our testimonies and he showed us around his town. Even when we left for a couple of nights at a desert camp, it didn’t feel like goodbye. We all had this sense that we would see him again.
And we did.
He later invited us back, this time to stay a night in the dunes. Around the fire, we shared more testimonies and even played a song about the “Man in White.” The next day, we walked across the desert, ate tagine at a nomadic camp, and returned to his home again. We were even invited to stay another night.
At that point, we knew the best thing we could give Mohmed and his family was the Gospel. We sat down with him and shared more about Jesus and salvation as a free gift. He was open, curious, and really listening. Not fully there yet, but genuinely engaged, and that was so special.
He always joked about how we prayed before everything, food, tea, literally everything 😂 but I truly believe seeds were planted. I really believe God has something big for his life!
→ Kalaat M’Gouna
After Merzouga, we felt led to visit Khaled in his hometown, Kalaat M’Gouna, the “Rose City.” He hosted us at his family’s hotel and showed us so much kindness and generosity.
While there, we met his friend Charal, who was incredibly hungry for truth. He had already read parts of the Bible, watched The Chosen, and asked really deep, thoughtful questions about faith. We shared our testimonies and truth with him, and had really honest conversations.
That same night, we had dinner with Khaled’s relatives. Even though they weren’t Christian, they asked us to pray over the meal and for them. We made it clear we were praying to Jesus as God, and they were completely open. It was such a beautiful moment.
If you’re praying, I’d love for you to lift up Mohamed, Khaled, Charal, and their families, that they would have real encounters with the Lord. He is truly after their hearts.
→ Heading back toward the coast → Essaouira
After that, we started making our way back toward the coast, stopping in Ouarzazate and Marrakech before ending up in Essaouira. Along the way, we met a guy from the UK named Lochlan, and somehow ended up spending almost two weeks with him.
He wasn’t religious at all, but getting to live life alongside him, praying, loving well, and just being present was really powerful. You could tell he was becoming more curious and asking deeper questions.
I really felt like God was stirring something in his heart the whole time. There felt like a real spiritual battle happening, and by the end, our team was ready to head back to America. I’m realizing just how much I’m going to miss the friendships I made in Morocco. I’m so grateful for it all.
Please pray for Lochlan too, that the Lord would reveal Himself to him in a real and personal way.
→ What God’s been doing in me
The Lord has been teaching me to be an intercessor in a deeper way. Moving so often in such a short time has made it clear that life itself is ministry. It’s conversations on buses, meals with strangers who become like family, prayers before tea, and staying aware of what God is doing in the everyday.
When you’re waking up in new places constantly, you don’t always have a perfect quiet time setup. So learning to abide has become very real to me, staying with Him throughout the day, making space for Him, and trusting Him with every step even when I don’t know what’s next.
I really do feel like a disciple walking with Him. Not always knowing where I’m going, but knowing He’s leading and He’s faithful.
→ What’s next
I have some really exciting news. This summer I was asked by Jenna and Kevin to help lead their squad in Guatemala for a month. This will actually be their last squad as AIM staff, which makes it even more special, and I’m truly honored to be part of it.
Because of that, I’ll only be home for a couple of days before heading back out for leadership training and then Guatemala. The turnaround is quick, and I know it will be intense at times, but I really believe the Lord is leading it all. He has been faithful every step so far, and I’m choosing to trust Him again in this.
I need to raise $1,000 for the trip, and I truly believe that if this is where He wants me, He will provide. If you feel led, I would really appreciate your prayers and support.
I actually flew back to America yesterday and am now at the AIM base debriefing the 10/40 trip. It’s been really sweet processing everything with my squad and mentors. Your prayers and encouragement have meant more than I can say. I truly believe they’ve carried me in ways I’m still discovering.
I’ll be heading home on May 13th (I can’t wait to see you all and give hugs 🤍), then back to Georgia on the 24th for leadership training before leaving for Guatemala.
I’m so grateful. I wouldn’t be here without you. Your prayers, support, and love have meant everything.
This season has stretched me, grown my faith, and deepened my dependence on the Lord more than I ever expected. I know He’s not done yet. Please keep praying that I would stay close to Jesus, lead with humility, and trust Him fully in whatever comes next.
Love you all so much, and I can’t wait to see you soon 🤍
